Fundraising

Fundraising is a large part of the schools personal development offer.  We believe that we have a responsibility to support charities, both locally and Nationally.  We encourage the whole of the school community to get involved.

The fundraising starts early in phase 1, with the reception children holding their annual 'wear it wild' day, which includes dressing up and baking cakes for a cake sale.  All of the money raised goes towards supporting endangered animals which the pupils have researched and gained knowledge about them through the curriculum.  One of the highlights of the year is the whole school Christmas Chetwynde to Lapland challenge.  Every year pupils and staff dress-up in their best festive outfits and run the combined distance from Chetwynde to Lapland.  All of the money (and food donated) goes to local charities, including the local foodbank.  There are many other fundraising activities throughout the year.

Leadership

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

As part of the school supporting leadership development, we encourage all pupils in year 9 and year 10 to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
