As the school performance results are published by the Department for Education, Chetwynde is ranked as the top-performing school in Barrow! We have achieved our best results ever as a Free school.
And we are thrilled!
Chetwynde has undoubtedly been on a journey of change over the last few years as we have transitioned from a popular independent school into a thriving free school whose future is looking bright.
We certainly feel that our small, family feel school goes a long way to contributing to these results. We know our students inside-out enabling us to pinpoint teaching and provide the pastoral support that creates such a positive learning environment. Being an all-through school also benefits our students as they transition seamlessly from primary to secondary.
So, it is a well-deserved pat on the back to the adults in our school who help create an environment that allows our students to flourish. Thank you to our cleaning team, the teachers, dinner-time staff, Friends of Chetwynde, the teaching assistants, the site team, the governors, our office ladies, peripatetic teachers and the leadership team.

Thank you to our parents who have supported Chetwynde to become the success it is today.
And of course, the biggest well done goes to our students who have taken the opportunities offered at Chetwynde and worked hard to achieve their potential - we are very proud of you all.
