School Uniform & Expectations
Some of Chetwynde School uniform is available from Identity in Barrow-in-Furness (see information below; other items can be bought from high-street retailers or supermarkets).
Primary and senior uniform - compulsory
Chetwynde striped blazer (to be worn throughout the year) (available from Identity) or Chetwynde grey blazer (to be worn throughout the year) ( from Identity)
Grey pinafore or grey skirt (from most supermarkets or Identity)
Grey trousers or Grey Shorts (from most supermarkets or Identity)
Light blue blouse -
Grey Jumper (from most supermarkets or Identity)
Grey tights/socks - winter
White socks (ankle/knee) - summer
Black shoes ( flat heels-easy fasten for primary) (No trainer style shoes for all)
Chetwynde tie
Plain navy blue school rucksack- Years 3-11 (Identity or available from supermarkets)
Optional for primary:
Grey or Royal Blue cardigan (from most supermarkets)
Blue and white summer dress (Identity or supermarket)
Please note: Primary pupils do not need a grey jumper AND a blue cardigan. They just require one.

Plain navy/black coat (to be worn over blazer) - (boys & girls) (Identity or other seller)
Navy blue sun hat - plain baseball cap no logos
Whole school sports kit - compulsory

Swimming costume/trunks (not shorts) - plain black, navy or blue (Primary) (available from supermarkets)

Chetwynde Uniform Store
The Chetwynde Uniform Store consists of donated and pre-loved uniform items at reasonable prices.
It is stored in the school and the store is open:
Wednesday 3:30pm -4:30pm
Thursday 3:30pm -4:30pm
Friday 3:00pm-4:00pm
There is a nominal charge for items, and to access the store please call at the school office on 01229 824210
Senior Stationery
A pencil case that includes:
- pen
- pencil
- felt pens or pencils
- highlighters
- mini-white board & board marker (year seven will get their first one free. Lost boards will need to be replaced)
- small roll of sellotape
- glue stick
- ruler
- small pair of child safety scissors
- Protractor
- Pair of compasses
- scientific calculator (we recommend - Casio FX-83 series or FX 85 series calculator)
A small notebook that fits in a blazer pocket (for recording passwords and other notes)
A pair of earbud headphones that can be stored in a blazer pocket for use in ICT
A personal reading book for DEAR time, either from home or the school library.
Stationery Shop
From September 23, the Maths department will be running a stationary shop.
